    Event Description:
We’re excited to announce that Parkland County will be participating in this year’s Alberta Open Farm Days! Join us August 18-19 and learn all about how our food gets from farm to table through this unique, province-wide event!

In collaboration with Community Futures, Parkland County will be hosting a full-day guided adventure that will be sure to maximize your Alberta Open Farm Days experience – we’re calling it the Local Farm Trail!

The tour will bring you to five farms in Parkland County where you can be sure to cultivate each of your senses. Enjoy the charming scenery of the prairie countryside, drool over the smell of freshly baked muffins, try your hand at beeswax candle making and carding wool, and gain valuable insight on how your food gets from farm to table.

The highlight of our tour is an exclusive culinary experience: local chefs from The Stony Plain Pie Shoppe will be preparing a home-grown, gourmet lunch just for you, complete with fresh ingredients sourced directly from each of our featured farms! The day will certainly leave you with lasting memories.
